President Faure to attend Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 |12 November 2019

President Danny Faure will be attending the Nairobi Summit in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development.

From November 12-14, the governments of Kenya and Denmark and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will co-convene the Nairobi Summit on International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD25|), a high-level conference to mobilise the political will and financial commitments urgently required to fully implement the ICPD Programme of Action. This action plan places the human rights of individuals, rather than numerical population targets, at the centre of the global development agenda.

The president will be absent from the country today (November 12) and will be back tomorrow (November 13).
