In a momentous occasion highlighting international collaboration and leadership development, 26 chief executives from the public service have successfully completed an intensive executive leadership programme generously sponsored by the United Arab Emirates government.

The programme, spanning from October 2023 to February 2024, culminated in a prestigious certificate presentation ceremony on February 11 at the World Governments Summit in Dubai.

The executive leadership programme covered a diverse array of topics including future foresight and scenario planning; leading the future; policy formulation, strategic performance and management; digital transformation; and agile leadership and leading in an uncertain future.

Throughout the duration of the programme, the chief executives engaged in dynamic discussions, interactive sessions, and immersive learning experiences designed to foster critical thinking, innovation, and collaborative problem-solving. By exploring cutting-edge theories and practical applications in leadership and governance, the cohort of chief executives have gained invaluable perspectives and tools to drive positive change within their respective spheres of influence.

A cornerstone of the executive leadership programme was the capstone project, which challenged the participants to apply their newfound knowledge and skills to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges facing their organisations and communities. This hands-on experience not only enabled participants to make tangible contributions to their organisations but also empowered them to become catalysts for sustainable development and positive transformation.

The culminating event of the programme, the certificate presentation ceremony at the World Governments Summit, served as a fitting tribute to the dedication, perseverance, and exemplary leadership demonstrated by the graduates. Against the backdrop of a global gathering of policymakers, thought leaders, and visionaries, the Seychellois chief executives were celebrated for their commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusive governance.

The sponsorship of the executive leadership programme by the UAE government underscores the spirit of cooperation, mutual respect, and shared commitment to capacity building and leadership development among nations. By investing in the professional growth and empowerment of Seychellois chief executives, the UAE government has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering enduring partnerships and advancing global prosperity.

As Seychelles embarks on its journey towards sustainable development and inclusive growth, the graduation of the chief executives from the executive leadership programme represents a significant milestone in the country's pursuit of excellence and progress. Armed with newfound knowledge, insights, and networks, these leaders are poised to chart a course towards a brighter future for Seychelles and its people.
