Club Med Seychelles hosts 29 children

Club Med Seychelles hosted a group of 29 children on Sunday February 4 who are presently living in shelters after their homes were damaged in the tragic events of December 7, 2023.

The kids, aged from 1 to 15 years, accompanied by nine parents were treated to an afternoon of absolute bliss at the resort on Saint Anne island, offering a much-needed moment of respite from the difficulties they are facing.

Upon arrival, a warm welcome by the staff awaited them at the jetty, setting the tone for a thrilling afternoon.

Everyone present was mesmerised by a fanciful digital show, music and brain teasers, creating a magical atmosphere.

Various outdoor games had been organised to keep the group of very happy and vibrant kids active during the whole afternoon. They were also served an array of refreshments and snacks.

The outing provided therapeutic activities where children engaged in social interaction through play and stimulating games, which helped restore joy and happiness in the aftermath of the December 7 explosion.

Leisure experience manager Oussama Aithammoui Yahya, expressed the resort’s pleasure to welcome “the group of very special guests.”

The activity was initiated by the social affairs department in collaboration with the National Council for Children (NCC) and the Ministry of Education.

Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Patricia Francourt, who was not present, sent a message of encouragement to the children, asking them to stay strong, remain focused in their studies and to welcome benevolent support.

To the parents, Minister Francourt thanked them for their resilience and strength in keeping the family together during the crisis.

The social affairs department expressed its gratitude to Club Med for its steadfast support and kindness towards the children of Seychelles.

The department is appealing to businesses wishing to engage in similar activities to come forward, with the hope of extending related outings into the April school holidays. The accompanying photos show the children enjoying themselves at Club Med Seychelles on Saint Anne islands
