Gran Kaz spreads Christmas joy to the Children's Ward

In the true spirit of giving, Gran Kaz brought an abundance of Christmas cheer to the young patients at the Children's Ward of the Seychelles Hospital yesterday.

Armed with presents and a special pancake brunch, Gran Kaz created a festive atmosphere for the young patients, who will be spending this time of year in hospital instead of with their families.

The company’s aim was to turn the hospital into a haven of joy and laughter and make their Christmas a little brighter.

Present for the event were Shama Amesbury, public relations and communications manager of Gran Kaz, and Dr Javier Rose, the medical consultant for children. The young patients were accompanied by their mothers.

The ceremony began with the youth choir of the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC) brightening the hospital with jolly Christmas carols followed by words of thanks from members of the hospital.

Dr Rose commended Gran Kaz for such an initiative stating they were “very happy and immensely grateful for the token”, adding he hoped it would help lead to the children’s speedy recovery.

The initiative was not only to spread joy among the children but to the parents as well. “It is not easy for the parents or children, and this activity has allowed the parents to take their minds off the stress and discomfort of not being at home,” said Ms Amesbury.

To facilitate gift buying, the Children’s Ward had provided information such as the children’s age and gender. Gran Kaz also hosted a brunch for the children, where they got to enjoy pancakes, fruit salads and juice for refreshment.

“We are very proud of how the event turned out and a great thanks goes to the SNYC youth choir for their wonderful songs,” concluded Ms Amesbury.
