18 young referees receive certificate at the end of five-day Fifa course |16 December 2023
Eighteen (18) young referees have received their certificate in a small ceremony held at the Maison Football, Roche Caïman, after completing a five-day Fédération internationale de Football Association refereeing course.
The five-day Fédération internationale de Football Association (Fifa) refereeing course started on December 11 with the aim of developing and inspiring future generations of football officials in Seychelles. Young talents across Mahé are being groomed since the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) launched its development campaign two years ago.
A panel consisting of Lewis Madeleine, Jason Damoo, Fifa instructor Boubaker Hannachi and SFF vice-president Dolor Ernesta presented the certificates to the young referees before Mr Ernesta closed the ceremony with some words of encouragement.
Speaking to the participants, Fifa physical instructor Boubaker Hannachi mentioned that he was honoured to have worked with these young talents and he has encouraged them to continue in their pursuit.
“They made great efforts to follow the instructions given during the course and tried to implement what they have understood on the field,” said Mr Hannachi.
He added that he is convinced of the progression of these young talents and hopes that they continue to have the drive to learn as other opportunity arises. The Fifa instructor thanked the SFF for welcoming him and for working together to help the youths.
Addressing the attendees, lead instructor of the course Jason Damoo thanked Fifa president Gianni Infantino and the SFF for approving this course.
“As we know this course is for developing and promoting the youths for them to have an opportunity to go further in the future. This is a continuation of what we began last year where we had local courses and now in the second year we managed to host a Fifa course,” said Mr Damoo.
This was the third Fifa course approved by SFF this year.
