Boat accident in Anse Severe, La Digue
  •  All passengers rescued

 

Passengers on board a boat that got stuck on a rock at sea, in the vicinity of Anse Severe, La Digue, last Friday, November 24, received medical treatment at St Mary’s Hospital, after sustaining injuries.

In a press communique released on Saturday, the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency (SFRSA) which responded to the call for assistance said there were 11 passengers on board comprising men, women and children.

SFRSA said it was alerted of the incident by the La Digue police at 6.37pm, and sought the assistance of a La Digue resident to reach the site of the accident, where they managed to rescue the passengers, with the help of other residents who had joined the operation.

SFRSA said for the time being it has no additional information on the incident and it was still unclear on what may have caused the accident.
