Aloha Restaurant & Bar brings a tropical and warm ambience to Victoria

After successfully setting up the country’s first two dedicated bubble tea stores, namely the Boba Republic, the Food Court of the Bois De Rose Shopping complex, and the second branch on Quincy Street, local entrepreneur Yuva Pillay has come up with a new concept, aiming to bring a more tropical and warmer ambience to Victoria.

Aloha Restaurant & Bar, situated at the Docklands, is one of the first high-end stand-alone resto-bar in Seychelles, offering a multi-cuisine menu, along with a selection of exclusive cocktails and mocktails.

The Aloha Restaurant and Bar was officially opened last week in the presence of friends and family members, including Mr Pillay’s parents Sumathy Murthy, and the well-known Dr Murthy Pillay.

Mr Pillay said the project has been very challenging, taking over a year and a half to complete.

He explained that there has been a lot of effort into converting the place into what it is today, adding that he could have easily completed the project in two months, by using the previous tenant’s layout and fittings.

Mr Pillay however felt that more should be done so that the restaurant matches international standards.

“Everything you see here is made from scratch,” said Mr Pillay, who added that the Aloha has a great team with experienced chefs, barmen, servers and managers who will definitely make sure that everyone experiences the upmost service.

He said the location is ideal since it is away from residential areas.

Mr Pillay also noted that mostly everything – from construction materials, decorations to cutlery – have been imported from India which has caused delay in shipment, affecting the opening date.

Good food and customer service is the top priority of the establishment, and Mr Pillay also noted that they will be offering mixed cuisines, and not limited to Indian cuisine as some people may think, based on the Indian-origin owner.
