The International Parliamentary Games (IPG) is an event designed to bridge states, governments, and people through friendship and light-hearted competition.
It also provides the space for parliamentary diplomacy and frank dialogues to take place in a more amicable atmosphere, where good health is also being actively promoted.
For the 11th Games, 12 countries, namely Russia, Belarus, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Haiti, China (Hong Kong), South Sudan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Malawi, and Seychelles took part.
On the programme were various sporting disciplines, including mini-football, golf, table tennis, chess, tennis, and badminton.
Other than mini-football, the Seychelles’ delegation also competed in badminton where MNA Roucou finished third.
The delegation also had the chance to meet with chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Aleksandrovich Svishchev, where various discussions took place regarding the status of sports in Seychelles.
Despite the cold weather, the delegation noted that the event was well-coordinated and that the Seychelles flag was represented enthusiastically throughout the IPG.
