Miroslav Kosek is the new Czech ambassador to Seychelles |04 October 2023
The Czech Republic and Seychelles have discussed ways to promote their respective culture following the accreditation of a new Czech ambassador the Seychelles.
Ambassador Miroslav Kosek presented his credentials to President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House yesterday morning, followed by a discussion.
In a short interview with the local media, Mr Kosek shared that the discussions were mainly about how to enhance the current bilateral relations.
“We were talking about promoting tourism and how the Czech Republic can send more tourists here. We also pondered on the waste management sector and how the Czech Republic can help the Seychelles.”
Ambassador Kosek also shared how there can be cultural exchange between Prague and the island nation. Climate change was also part of the exchange.
Prior to being accredited to Seychelles, Ambassador Kosek was also serving as ambassador to Afghanistan and Latvia.
Seychelles maintains diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic since 1976 and several Seychellois students have followed their studies in the European country.
