Seychelles and UAE relations continue to strengthen |25 September 2023

Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan held discussions with the United Arab Emirates Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, while in New York, United States of America.
President Ramkalawan and His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan discussed ways Seychelles and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can continue to foster and develop mutual relations, while continuing to strengthen cooperation in various fields, and supporting the common interests of both peoples.
The president acknowledged and extended his gratitude to the UAE for the continuous support to the Seychellois nation, particularly in its contribution towards the socio-economic development of the country.
The meeting was an opportunity to review and share updates on key projects such as the west coast road, drug rehabilitation centre, IECD centre, Anse Royale sports complex and the Barbarons housing projects.
President Ramkalawan was in New York attending the 78th United National General Assembly (UNGA) taking place from September 18-26.
