On the final day of the G77 and China Summit of heads of state and government in Cuba, President Wavel Ramkalawan met with a group of Seychellois students currently studying in various provinces in Cuba.

The president was accompanied by the First Lady, Linda Ramkalawan, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs & Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde.
The gathering was an opportunity for the students to share their experience as well as challenges they encounter while in Cuba.

All the students present are doing studies in various medical fields and expressed their wish to complete their studies and return to Seychelles.
Addressing the students, President Ramkalawan wished them courage in their respective challenges and reaffirmed the country's full support.

“We look forward to welcoming you all back in Seychelles to share your expertise and serve our people. We know and appreciate the sacrifice and hard work you all have to endure and we are proud of you all. All the very best and continue to make Seychelles proud.”
On behalf of all the students present, Marie Stravens expressed appreciation to the President and the First Lady for making the time to meet and interact with them.

“We are all eager to complete our studies and come back home to serve our people and make our contribution for the benefit of our health system and Seychelles,” she said.
