2023 graduates of the CWS Leadership Training Development Programme
CWS witnesses graduation of 36 future leaders
A group of 36 Cable and Wireless Seychelles’ (CWS) employees has successfully completed a Leadership Development Programme.
A graduation ceremony was held recently to celebrate the accomplishments of staff members at the Eden Bleu Hotel.
Since November 2022, the telecommunications provider embarked on a journey of realising one of its strategic objectives, which is to develop the capabilities and skills of staff members.
Over the course of these nine months, the employees took part in an intensive training programme to enhance their personal aptitudes to encourage more efficiency in the workplace and foster an environment that goes beyond day-to-day tasks but rather looks toward the future.
Participants enrolled in the programme received a combination of in-person and virtual training, where they obtained valuable insights and significant experience from Andrew Long, a leadership consultant and coach.
The programme highlighted the need for an in-house cultural change – one that embraces delegation and shared responsibility across CWS.
Mr Long stated that the core goals of the training was to instill a more collaborative and empowering leadership style onto the aspiring leaders.
“At Cable and Wireless Seychelles, we are committed to nurturing the growth and development of our employees by investing in appropriate training programmes which will empower them to unlock their full potential and hone new skills that they can share with their teams,” said Thomas Dauban, director for People and Culture at CWS.
He further added: “We are delighted and proud of their achievements throughout these nine months and are now looking forward to see how they impart their knowledge to their fellow colleagues to ensure that the company continues to build on long-term working relationships.”
Subsequent to becoming fully Seychellois-owned in 2019, Cable and Wireless Seychelles has been motivating employees to strive for career progression through different educational channels.
CWS even has their own in-house e-learning platform, conceived by the People and Culture department, to provide hundreds of courses to staff members.
“This has been an excellent opportunity and I am grateful to have been identified as a potential leader. The training has been helpful and provided us with much gained knowledge that I am looking forward to putting into practice,” expressed Sylvie Agricole, a graduate of the CWS Leadership Development Programme.
CWS will remain steadfast in its commitment to touching the lives of employees by meeting their needs and the fast-paced environment that surrounds the telecoms industry.
