Imposes restrictions across suspicious international e-commerce platforms
Absa Bank Seychelles has confirmed that the bank has imposed restrictions across several suspicious international e-commerce platforms.
In a press release issued yesterday the bank stated “our monitoring and detecting system alerted some discrepancies on our customer accounts and we have taken immediate steps to safeguard you from any further additional exposure”.
Absa Bank Seychelles has reassured its customers that the situation was getting their full attention and stated that they “currently have a team of highly specialised individuals working to address the issue as fast as possible”.
“We remain in close communication with our customers who have been affected due to the unauthorised transactions,” the statement added.
Customers who suspect that their Absa Debit Card may be compromised, are requested to call 4 38 39 73 so that the bank can do the necessary to block any further transactions on the card.
“You may visit your nearest branch to be issued a replacement card at no cost,” wrote the statement.
Absa Bank Seychelles is also advising customers to block their own debit card via the bank’s Mobile Banking App or through the Absa Online Banking Platform if they have already registered.
