Anse Aux Pins school honours fathers |21 June 2023
To commemorate Father’s Day, the Anse Aux Pins school organised a special assembly on Friday, June 16.
Compared to previous Father’s Day celebrations, the turnout from the dads of the pupils at the school was unexpectedly high.
The hospitality club welcomed the dads with a Father’s Day card and those who are also staff members of the school were given a small token.
The activity started with a reflection from the teachers and students followed by a speech by the deputy head teacher for Student Support and presentations by teachers, students as well as the dads.
The dads were thanked and encouraged to be more engaged in their children’s lives, both socially and academically. They were also urged to inspire their children by being a role model.
Furthermore, a group of fathers joined together and showcased their talents through a recently formed band to entertain the students, staff members and others present.
A high tea was organised as part of the celebration giving them the opportunity to mingle. To conclude the celebration, they were directed to their children’s respective classes for an opportunity to discuss with the class teachers.
The management team and staff are highly enthusiastic to organise next year’s celebration under the theme ‘SUPER DAD’.
