Cricket Update: SCA Women’s T10 League and SCA T10 League |10 June 2023

Gran Kaz Lions beat Vijay Warriors

Winning the toss, Vijay Warriors opted to bat first, as Muneesha (11 runs), Hetal (10 runs) and Nesvee (18 runs) being the noteworthy contributors.

In their allotted 10 overs, Vijay managed to post a pretty decent total of 52 for the loss of 3 wickets. Manisha and Chathuri finished with a wicket apiece for the Lions.

If Vijay had any hopes of defending this total, they were all quashed from the very beginning as Gran Kaz replied with almost the perfect chase, their openers pretty much doing the job for them, that too pretty emphatically.

They needed just 6.4 overs to chase the total down. Manisha (25 runs) not out, top scored and fellow opener Chamila scored 23 runs.

For her all-round performance, Manisha Kanbi claimed the player-of-the-match award.

In the men’s SCA T10 League, for those who went to watch, it was certainly a great treat.

With its runs galore from both teams, am sure the spectators witnessed a great match.

Just because it was two-brother teams playing each other it did not mean there were any favours being exchanged, if anything, it was quite the opposite.

Winning the toss, Spartans chose to bat and boy did they bat!

Meeran and Karthik decided they were going to keep all the strikes in that inning and smashed a jaw-dropping 105 in 10 overs – probably the highest total in T10 thus far – Karthik who is slowly building a reputation of a ‘Master Blaster’ did exactly that, he smashed 61 off 37 balls that included 5 boundaries and 2 sixes. On the other hand, Meeran scored 32 off 24 balls, with 5 boundaries.

None of the Spartan A bowlers were spared, and they did try with as many as 6 of them being put to the test.

Coming in to chase, Spartan A could not really get any rhythm going and failed to form any sizeable partnership.

There were valuable contributions from Shiva (11 runs), Praveen (14 runs) and Ramar (26 runs).

Ramar’s effort proved too little too late as they finished their 10 overs for 86 at the loss of 7 wickets.

From Spartan Warriors Jaganathan, Gunasekaran and Kalai all finished with 2 wickets apiece.

There was no price for guessing the man of the match as Karthikkili claimed that honour, undisputedly.
