Hilton reveals 2023 Thrive Sabbatical and Thrive Reset winners |11 May 2023

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has announced its 2023 Thrive Sabbatical and Thrive Reset winners, recognising 20 individuals overall.
Thrive Sabbatical gives Hilton’s team members the opportunity to take time off to live a dream by pursuing a passion, give a dream by helping others or develop skills to deliver even better stays for its guests.
Among this year’s winners is Gorvachov Bekele, senior room service attendant at Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa – Seychelles.
This year, Hilton also expanded the initiative to include the new Thrive Reset programme. This new experience provides the opportunity to pause and recharge for all Hilton team members, including those at franchised properties. Ten selected team members will receive one week of paid time off and $2,000 USD.
“Our team members’ fierce dedication to making each and every stay exceptional is what makes Hilton great, and we want to continue to find ways to care for them as they care for our guests,” said Laura Fuentes, chief human resources officer for Hilton.
“These two opportunities give our team members the time and space to rest and recharge by pursuing a passion, taking care of themselves or others, or growing their skills to deliver even better stays.”
In 2017, fate brought Gorvachov Bekele and Liza (housekeeping supervisor) together at Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa where they fell in love. In 2021, they exchanged vows and became husband and wife. Unfortunately, their dreams of a romantic honeymoon were dashed by the pandemic. Despite their unwavering dedication to their work, they still long for a chance to escape and celebrate their love.

The Thrive Reset also comes with a significant prize package. Reset winners receive one week of paid time off and $2,000 USD.Thrive Sabbatical Award originally debuted in 2018. Since then, Hilton has expanded the initiative with Thrive Reset.
