Beau Vallon Heat, PLS Hawks maintain top flight leads

 

  • Praslin Boys, PLS Legends dominate second division

 

Beau Vallon Heat and PLS Hawks are still maintaining their domination on their respective pool in the men’s division one Curtain-Raiser tournament, while Praslin Boys and PLS Legends are leading their groups in the men’s division two competition.

In group B alongside Drifters, Baya, MBU Rockers, AB Boys and MBU Rockers, last season’s double winners Beau Vallon Heat are presently leading on maximum six points collected from three wins in as many matches played.

They defeated MBU Rockers 108-52, Drifters 78-42, and AB Boys 86-26.

Drifters are trailing second on three points from a win a defeat, having beaten district rivals AB Boys 78-42.

Bel Air-based Baya are third on two points from their only match played, defeating MBU Rockers 94-46, ahead of AB Boys who are fourth on two points from their two defeats, while MBU Rockers are at the bottom, also on two points with similar statistics.

Drawn in group A, PLS Hawks are playing alongside Mont Fleuri Dawgz, Anse Etoile, Premium Cobras and Cascade Bullets.

After three wins in as many matches played, PLS Hawks are leading the group on six points.

They won 79-54 against Anse Etoile, 89-39 against Premium Cobras and 73-70 against Mont Fleuri Dawgz.

The latter are presently second overall in the group on five points from a loss and two wins, having beaten Premium Cobras 78-50 and Cascade Bullets 78-38.

Newly promoted Anse Etoile are third overall, also on five points and with the same statistics, having beaten Premium Cobras 69-65 and Cascade Bullets 71-61.

With three defeats in as many matches played, Premium Cobras are presently fourth on the table on three points, ahead of Cascade Bullets who have collected only two points from two defeats so far.

Moving down to the second division, Praslin Boys are still dominating group A which also features MBU Boys, St Louis Saints and Baba.

The Praslin side have collected maximum six points from three wins, having won 84-50 over Baba, 66-52 over St Louis Saints and 83-57 over MBU Boys.

MBU Boys are second on four points from a win and two defeats, having beaten Baba 73-68, and losing  65-81 to St Louis Saints.

The latter are presently third overall from a win and a defeat, ahead of Baba who are on two points from two defeats.

In group B, PLS legends have already been confirmed as winners, having won all their four group matches, earning them maximum eight points.

They have beaten PLS Suns 67-53, Mont Fleuri Ballerz 74-61, Anse Royale 112-45, and PTL Thunder 111-28.

PLS Suns are second overall on five points from two victories and one defeat, having beaten Anse Royale 63-39 and walking over Mont Fleuri Ballerz.

Anse Royale are third on four points from a win and two defeats out of three matches, having a registered a 60-48 win over Mont Fleuri Ballerz.

Newcomers PTL Thunder are fourth in the group on three points from a win and a defeat out of two matches, registering their win by walk-over against Mont Fleuri Ballerz who are at the bottom on two points from four defeats in as many matches played.

Shifting to the women’s competition, B Challenge from Bel Air are presently leading on four points from two wins in as many matches played, defeating HotShots 40-36 and Mont Fleuri Ladies 70-47.

HotShots are second on three points from a win and a defeat, having beaten Anse Etoile Stars 50-32, pushing the latter into third place, also on three points, following their 64-28 victory over Mont Fleuri Ladies who are at the bottom on two points from two defeats.
