Seychelles’ capital Victoria has maintained its position as the world’s third best city for a scenic drive since 2022.

This comes in a report by Discovercars.com, the world's leading car rental website, on its 2023 official rating of the best global destination cities for a scenic drive. The headquarters of the world wide rental car company is based in Latvia.

It is the second consecutive ranking done by Discovercars.com since last year on the best destination cities for a scenic drive. This was done by asking 156,455 of their customers to rate each location around the world before averaging the results and ranking the cities accordingly.

Ahead of Victoria as best global destination city for a scenic drive is the city of Rovaniemi (Finland) in second place with the city of Bratislava (Slovakia) taking first-place.

Victoria received an average score of 9.3/10 making it a popular option among travellers.

In 2022, our city was behind the city of Iverness (United Kingdom) in second position and the city of Ivalo (Finland) in first position.

“We looked at ratings from travellers as well as the number of travellers that rated the destination. The higher rating and the higher number of reviews, the higher position the destination received,” said Magda Wilcock, senior digital PR executive.

According to the report, Victoria as the business and cultural hub with modern facilities, provides excellent driving conditions on well-maintained road surfaces connected to major points around Mahé. Our country is dubbed a tropical paradise due to its white beaches and sunny climate. It is seen as a popular summer destination that provides tourists with scenic routes all year round via connection in Victoria.

A road trip is often seen as the trip of a lifetime, providing an opportunity to travel to a new destination and experience new cultures and cuisines. Road trips come in a variety of shapes and sizes – from a cross-country adventure to scenic drives around a previously-untravelled city and picking the right destination is crucial to creating incredible memories to last a lifetime.
