Justice Renaud presents a copy of the SHRC report to President Ramkalawan
The chairperson of the Seychelles Human Rights Commission, Justice Bernardin Renaud, has said that more needs to be done to educate the public on human rights issues, so these could be reported for necessary actions.
Justice Renaud made the comment to the media at State House yesterday afternoon following his meeting with President Wavel Ramkalawan where he presented him with a copy of the commission’s annual report for 2024, as customary around this time of the year.
Justice Renaud said that although the Seychelles Human Rights Commission (SHRC) is engaged in raising the awareness on human rights, it needs the participation of other stakeholders, such as the media, to better explain what is human rights and issues related to the violations of those rights.
