Board, appeals board and CEO of Home Care Agency appointed

The Office of the President has announced the appointments of the Board, Appeals Board and the chief executive (CEO) of the Home Care Agency.

The Home Care Agency is set up under the Home Care Agency Act (2022) which came into effect on January 1, 2023.

The aim of the agency is to ensure sustainable professionalised home care services.

The agency’s main functions will include the management of the Home Care Scheme; monitoring of the level of care provided, and; provision of training for home care givers.

 

Board

The board’s role is to support and oversee the management of the affairs of the agency as well as make recommendations on guidelines and policies in line with government’s strategic vision.

Marie Celine Malbrook has been appointed as chairperson of the board and Bryan Julie as the vice-chairperson.

The other board members are George Nicette, Linda Morel, Noella Vinda and Reverend Daniel Kallee (ex-officio member/CEO).

The board has been appointed for a 3-year period effective as of March 1, 2023.

 

Appeals Board

The Appeals Board will consider appeals made on decisions taken by the Home Care Agency.

Vanessa Gill has been appointed as chairperson of the Appeals Board.

The other members on the Appeals Board are: Patricia Rene and Julianna Augustin.

The Appeals Board has been appointed for a two-year period effective as of March 1, 2023.

 

CEO

The chief executive (CEO) of the Home Care Agency is Rev. Dr Daniel Kallee and his appointment takes effect as of March 1, 2023.

As an ordained Anglican priest, Rev. Dr Kallee has worked in different Anglican diocese since 1985. Between 1999 and 2008 Rev. Dr Kallee also held several positions in the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports. Rev. Dr Kallee has a doctoral degree in (church) Ministry.

At the time of his appointment as CEO of the Home Care Agency, Rev. Dr Kallee was involved in consultancy work.
