New NSC boss meets and greets members of the media |16 February 2023
Local media houses should be a key partner, working along the National Sports Council in its endeavour to promote the new image of the council, while being responsible and objective in their reporting regarding the organisation.
Newly appointed chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) Marc Arissol made the statement yesterday, during a special ‘meet and greet’ event at the L’Escale Marina & Spa with members of the different local media houses, who other than being introduced to Mr Arissol, also met and discussed with the council’s management team.
Mr Arissol noted that news reports regarding the NSC should not be done in isolation with the council, while there should be a balance regarding opinions expressed on related matters.
He added that reports should be more objective, rather than subjective, something which he said he has noticed, well before being appointed into the post.
Despite the freedom of the press, Mr Arissol stressed that things should be written, aired and broadcasted as they really are, without any personal motives.
He urged everyone to work together toward a common goal which is to revive local sports.
Mr Arrisol inherited the task of leading the NSC, after being appointed into the post of chief executive in January 1, replacing Jean Larue who had been in the seat since August 1, 2018.
He strongly believes that the headquarters, which are the heart of any organisation, should be well and in working order, so that other sections or branches can function properly, and effectively.
In that line, his main priority is to sort the various issues within the NSC, bringing the staff within all ranks to work together towards a common goal, which is to resuscitate local sports.
