Natasha Chetty gets indoor PB and high jump win
Seychellois female high jumper Natasha Chetty has finished first overall in the high jump event and set a new indoor personal record to now sit tied for seventh on Nevada's indoor all-time top-10 list to conclude the final day of the Texas Tech Open competition on Saturday in the United States of America.
The sophomore student cleared a height of 1.75m to improve her previous record of 1.61m set at the Spokane Invitational in December last year.
This mark allowed Chetty to jump up on Nevada's Indoor all-time top-10 list, where she now is tied for seventh place with three former Wolf Pack athletes ‒ Kelly Eaton, Kinsey Minter, and Lea Halmans.
Chetty’s challenger Valeria Paez Rueda failed to record any jump.
“I think it was a good performance but I could have done better, but as my second time competing indoor it was a good start,” Chetty told Sports NATION yesterday.
On Friday, Chetty took part in the long jump event and she finished with a best effort of 5.63m and then clocked 7.88 seconds in the 60m dash.
Chetty and the Pack continue their season at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on February 10-11.
