Goal fests on Thursday

Thursday’s Seychelles Football Federation League One showdowns delivered a goal fest, with both Stad Popiler and Stad Linite witnessing an avalanche of goals as Baie Lazare thumped Glacis 7-0 and Roger Nambinintsoa scoring five goals in Mont Fleuri 9-2 win against St Louis Challengers.

At Stad Popiler, Baie Lazare, aiming for the top spot, thrashed second-from-bottom Glacis 7-0 to climb from third to second place on the table with 34 points from 15 games. This result pushed Muccia, who have the same number of points and games played, down to third position.

Baie Lazare started the match strongly, taking the lead as early as the 8th minute through Julian Quatre. Zinola François and Del Mahaosy quickly followed with goals in the 13th and 15th minutes, giving their team a commanding 3-0 lead within the first 15 minutes. Quatre and François then added their second goals of the match in the 31st and 37th minutes, taking Baie Lazare to a 5-0 advantage at half-time.
