Bringing back a smile for Christmas |28 December 2022

Young athlete Undrew Lozaique who recently lost all his medals and trophies following a house fire was smiling again for Christmas after the community, leisure and sports for all unit within the National Sports Council decided to replace his silverware.

It was on December 14 that young Lozaique from the Bel Ombre primary school lost all his medals when his family house was completely destroyed.

According to the director of the community, leisure and sports for all unit within the National Sports Council (NSC) Francis Remie, they were contacted by Lozaique’s teacher, Mary Cupidon, who informed them about the young boy’s sadness after losing all his medals and trophies.

Mr Remie said since we were in the Christmas spirit, they decided to replace the destroyed trophies, thus bringing a smile on the boy’s face.

Lozaique received his new trophies and medals from Mr Remie on Christmas eve, during a special presentation held at the NSC head office at Stad Linite, in the presence of his mother Urna Lozaique, and Ms Cupidon.

Lozaique was a member of the school’s Parent's Welcome club and he recently took part in the Parent's Welcome annual school competition held on December 5 at Anse Royale, where he won three medals.
