SEPABFF to host bodybuilding Mr and Mrs Seychelles Islands contest

Bodybuilding and fitness fans will once again enjoy their favourite sport following a three-year absence due to health restrictions amid the Covid-19 pandemic and this during a bodybuilding and fitness fair which will take place on Sunday at the National Sports Council Hall at Roche Caïman.

Hosted by the Seychelles Elite Pro Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (SEPABFF), in partnership with several other local gyms, the competition will feature athletes competing in the senior, junior and novice class of bodybuilding, physique and fitness.

According SEPABFF chairperson Chantal Pinchon, the competition is not only to bring back bodybuilding, but also to encourage young athletes, boost their confidence to pursue bodybuilding, fitness and physique as a sport.

She added that it will be also the right platform for those who are already serious about the sport and are planning on going further.

Tickets for the event are already on sale at R200, and R100 for children under 12 years old.

Meanwhile, two local bodybuilding judges, namely Gilles Pinchon and Roxy Athanase have been accredited by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) as international judges.

Both Pinchon and Athanase received their cards after following an intense one-week training earlier this month in Santa Susanna, Spain.

They both described the judge training as intense, but rewarding for Seychelles’ bodybuilding.

Pinchon and Athanase can officiate at any competition hosted by the IFBB.
