President Ramkalawan congratulates India on 75th Independence anniversary |13 August 2022
On the occasion of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence, President Wavel Ramkalawan has sent a message of congratulations to Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India.
In his message, President Ramkalawan stated: “As we commemorate the 75th anniversary of India as a free and independent nation, we are reminded of the spirit and the determination of the people of India in pursuing the dream of ‘Swaraj’”.
The Seychelles head of state further added: “India’s commitment to democracy, the rule of law, social justice, and equitable socio-economic and people-centred development is rooted in the values that inspired her independence heroes and continue to inspire not only her
contemporary leaders but also leaders of all peace-loving nations.”
“On our journey to self-rule and independence, Seychelles too drew inspiration from India’s struggle. As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, we also commemorate forty-six years of formal diplomatic relations between our two countries,” remarked President
President Ramkalawan has also sent a message of congratulations to Smt. Droupati Murmu, the President of India.
