Thank you for the fixtures for the 2019/20 football season
I thank you (the Seychelles Football Federation) very much for communicating the fixtures for the 2019/20 football season.
I would like to also extend my congratulations to the club competition manager, Clive Delorie, for providing the complete fixtures for one whole season. This represents a great improvement in the organisation of our favourite sport, if not a First.
I believe the other clubs representatives will join me in wishing that the fixtures are fully respected and that matches are not postponed for petty reasons as in the past. Some matches have even been cancelled eternally as they have never been played.
Sadly, one main reason for match postponement has been national team preparations for international matches. I hope this weakness has been considered while planning the fixtures.
Also – and this should be kindly extended to the national team coach and management – I believe (as I have stated in various earlier communications), that national team preparations can go on for only three to five days prior to a match, thus not affecting league matches and also club preparation. I would once again insist here that players belong to the clubs who pay them, and not to the national team. So I just hope that the time when players are taken away from their clubs for one or two weeks or even more, are over.
I wish you all an enjoyable and successful football season.
Yours in football,
Michel Paddy Savy (Mr)
Sports director Marine Maintenance Football Club
Executive member responsible for youth development, St Michel Football Club
