The Japanese chargé d'affaires to the Republic of Seychelles, Ambassador Makoto Tominaga, paid a farewell call on President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House yesterday morning following three-year tenure.

Speaking to the local press after his meeting with the head of state, Ambassador Tominaga said after establishing the Japanese embassy, he worked fervently with enthusiasm with the government.

Ambassador Tominaga said he is confident that the embassy will be able to enhance the existing relationship between the two countries.

He said during the meeting with President Ramkalawan they discussed the two countries’ good bilateral relations and described it as very fruitful.

It is to be noted that Ambassador Tominaga was around at the time of the opening of the first Japanese diplomatic mission in Seychelles in the presence of the Japanese Ambassador Horie Ryoichi.

The two countries, which established diplomatic relations in June 1976, have developed strong bonds of friendship and have enhanced collaboration at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
