German ambassador commends Seychelles for peaceful transition of power |23 February 2022
The ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Seychelles, Annett Günther, was received by the principal secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave, on Monday this week at Maison Quéau de Quinssy.
Ambassador Günther expressed that her visit will serve as an opportunity to personally convey the German government’s congratulations to the head of state on a successful presidential and legislative elections.
She commended Seychelles for a peaceful transition of power, marking Seychelles as an exemplary country in the African region displaying the true values of democracy.
Ambassador Fock Tave thanked the German ambassador for Germany’s key role in maritime security in the region through the EUNavfor Operation Atalanta.
Other topics discussed were the possibilities of new areas of cooperation such as in the Blue Economy, capacity building, and the health sector among others.
Present at the meeting were the director general for Bilateral Affairs, Lindy Ernesta, director general for Regional Affairs, Steve Lalande, and senior officials of the Foreign Affairs department.
