President confirms cache of weapons and ammunition recently discovered shockingly extensive |01 December 2021

Speaking at the launch of the Gerard Hoarau Foundation on Monday evening, President Wavel Ramkalawan confirmed that the recent discovery of arms and ammunition on the property of a prime suspect in a case under prosecution by the Anti-Corruption Commission of Seychelles (ACCS) is possibly as extensive as was being rumored, with yet more weapons being discovered almost two weeks after the suspect’s arrest.

“Over the past few weeks, when we heard of all the weapons being discovered, and there are still yet more being discovered, it makes us think about what kind of society we were living in. I think the Seychellois public will be shocked when they will come to learn how much arms, how many bullets were reserved for many of us in this fight, and we are thankful, we thank God that even if we consider ourselves dead men walking, but we are very much alive for noble causes, and causes which aid us in encouraging democracy, and which allow us to respect one another,” President Ramkalawan remarked.
