Cuban resident ambassador pays farewell call on foreign affairs and tourism minister |24 September 2021

Juan Humberto Macias Pino of the Republic of Cuba yesterday paid a farewell call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, at the Maison Quéau de Quinssy.
Ambassador Pino has been the resident ambassador for Cuba in Seychelles since December 6,
In his meeting with the Seychelles Foreign Minister, Ambassador Pino briefed him on his accomplishments during his tenure, noting that “this mission has contributed to my personal and professional growth and it was such a fruitful experience”.
During the meeting, Ambassador Pino also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Minister Radegonde, as well as to all officials of the government of Seychelles, for the support and cooperation extended to him during his tenure.
On his part, Minister Radegonde commended Ambassador Pino’s excellent work in furthering the relationship between Cuba and Seychelles: “Seychelles owes Cuba a depth of gratitude on many levels. Please convey to your government our appreciation, and for that, Cuba will remain a friend always.” Additionally, Minister Radegonde gave the Cuban diplomat his commitment to continue supporting Cuba on various resolutions at the United Nations.
On behalf of the government and the staff of the foreign affairs department, Minister Radegonde wished Ambassador Pino and his wife a safe return back home.
Ambassador Pino currently holds the title of dean of the diplomatic corps, a position which will henceforth be held by Ambassador Guo Wei of the People’s Republic of China.
Present at the meeting were the principal secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock
Tave and director general of bilateral affairs, Lindy Ernesta.
