Rotary joins in awareness raising efforts to curb spread of Covid-19   |13 August 2021

The prevalence of Covid in Seychelles has necessitated several measures by the country to bring this situation under control and one community club, the Rotary Club of Victoria, has decided to give a helping hand in the efforts to raise the awareness of the public of some areas of importance.

Last month the club started the beginning of the campaign by sticking floor stickers in certain crowded areas such as near the bank at Kingsgate House, the Planning Authority offices at Independence House and Oceangate House near the Agency for Social Protection.

As an extension of the programme, 26,000 vehicle stickers have been printed with strong messages encouraging the public to respect social safety rules such as wearing masks which will be distributed over the next months.

The Rotary Club of Victoria is very happy to announce that SACOS insurance, a well-respected and established company, has agreed with the club vision and has joined as a major partner and will participate in the distribution of the vehicle stickers.

Next month all primary schools through the Ministry of Education will be provided with floor social distance stickers encouraging good hygiene behaviour among our young population. The club hopes its actions will encourage greater public participation to eradicate this danger to our population.

Rotary Club of Victoria is affiliated with the worldwide club of Rotary International which has over a million members.
