Nouvobanq celebrates staff achievements and commitment to excellence |26 February 2024
A momentous occasion unfolded at Nouvobanq last Friday as a certificate ceremony took place to honour the exceptional achievements, hard work and professionalism displayed by its dedicated staff.
Moreover, it was a celebration of their success in the esteemed Complio Pro X training programme, marking a significant milestone not only for the individuals involved but for the bank as a whole.
The programme was launched in November 2022 with support from their domestic partners. The 153 staff with an 85 percent pass rate, completed their training in September 2023 and February 2024.
The training was in line with the bank’s commitment to provide its staff with knowledge and skills needed to navigate the landscape of the banking industry and to ensure that all staff members are well-versed and compliant with the latest laws, regulations and policies.
Moreover, the training focused on anti-money laundering, and the applications of sanctions to resolve geopolitical conflicts.
In her opening remarks, chief compliance officer Sandra Hall took the opportunity to reiterate these sentiments with regards to the importance of compliance as a discipline and its undeniable influence in the way they conduct business.
“Our role is to ensure that the bank operates with integrity and that we adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and most importantly industry best practices,” said Ms Hall.
She ended her speech with a heartfelt remark to her colleagues. “May you be as proud of your achievements as we are of you and I look forward to seeing you apply the knowledge gained from the programme in the business and beyond.”
The certificates were given to different divisions namely the risk division, compliance division, corporate affairs and marketing division, human resource division, operations division, finance division, the Eden branch and to staff under the chief executive’s (CEO) portfolio.
Nylah Pillay formed part of the September 2023 cohort and for her the one-and-a-half-month training was fun rather than hectic and challenges.
“It was very thoughtful on how the platform was made, it was more or less as a game,” said Ms Pillay, adding that she learned a lot and it helped to refresh their memories on what they already knew.
