Constitution Day message: Beyond celebration towards civic responsibility
“As we commemorate Constitution Day in Seychelles, we must do more than celebrate a historical document. We must ask ourselves a serious question: Do we truly understand the Constitution, or have we reduced democracy to partisan loyalty and election-day emotions?
“A Constitution is not merely a book of laws. It is the supreme law of the land. It exists to limit power, protect freedoms, guarantee justice, and preserve the rights of every citizen. However, a Constitution is only as strong as the people who understand it and are willing to defend it.
