Call for applications: Mayor of Victoria
The Office of the President has issued a public call inviting suitably qualified Seychellois citizens to apply for the position of Mayor of Victoria.
The Mayor of Victoria plays a pivotal leadership role, providing direction and representation for the nation’s capital. The position involves fostering collaboration at district level, promoting the city’s cultural and economic vitality, and spearheading initiatives that enhance residents’ wellbeing while strengthening Victoria’s national image.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Seychellois citizen in good standing.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and community engagement skills.
- Possess proven experience in public service, administration, community development, or related fields.
- Be able to work collaboratively with local authorities, civil society, and national stakeholders.
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity and public accountability.
Application process
Interested candidates are required to submit:
- A letter of application outlining their motivation and vision for the development of Victoria.
- A detailed curriculum vitae highlighting relevant experience.
- Two references attesting to their character and professional conduct.
Applications should be addressed to the Cabinet Office and submitted to the State House by January 16, 2026.
Following the closing date, all applications will be forwarded to members of the National Assembly representing districts surrounding Victoria. These members will conduct a review and selection process, including discussions and interviews, before recommending a candidate to the President for appointment.
