A delegation from the Employment department, led by Minister Patricia Francourt, recently visited three tourism establishments on Praslin – Indian Ocean Lodge, Bliss Hotel and Constance Lemuria.

These visits are part of the ministry’s ongoing engagement with hotels across the country. Such interactions serve as valuable opportunities for the minister to meet with employees and hold meaningful discussions with hoteliers. The goal is to foster mutual understanding, address challenges faced by both parties, and strengthen communication to promote better labour dialogue.

During the visits, Minister Francourt highlighted the vital role of tourism in Seychelles’ economy and underscored the need for service delivery that reflects professionalism and efficiency.

“I appreciate your dedication and the valuable contribution you make in promoting the uniqueness of Seychelles as a destination,” she told the staff of the three establishments.

She encouraged young professionals to remain in the industry and take full advantage of growth opportunities within their respective fields.

At the end of each visit, the delegation held debriefing sessions with the management teams. The minister stressed the importance of maintaining positive labour relations, valuing both Seychellois and non-Seychellois workers, and creating a conducive work environment that nurtures professional development and improves employee retention.
