2019 Examiner Profile for ABRSM Practical Examinations |26 July 2019
James Lowry studied music at New College, Oxford and then took a postgraduate diploma in conducting at the Welsh College of Music and Drama.
He has been an examiner for ABRSM for over ten years. During this time he has examined in the UK, but 2016 was his first experience of overseas work.
Mr Lowry has nearly 20 years' experience in full-time school teaching, but has recently moved away from this in order to refocus on other aspects of life and music making.
He has experience of conducting both choirs and orchestras, and very much enjoys working with young people on all things musical. He is looking forward to the fresh challenges of working for ABRSM in the Far East.
