Newly accredited Bahraini ambassador calls on Minister Radegonde |09 June 2021
The newly accredited ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, was yesterday welcomed and congratulated at Maison Quéau de Quinssy by Minister Sylvestre Radegonde.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism started off by assuring Ambassador Al Khalifa of the readiness of the Seychelles government to work with the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to push the relationship to new heights.
“I want to reiterate the closeness of the relationship between our two countries, not only as fellow island states but also as brother countries,” expressed Minister Radegonde.
Ambassador Al Khalifa and Minister Radegonde also discussed potential new fields of cooperation such as tourism whereby the Seychelles Tourism Academy could explore the possibility of establishing a partnership with hospitality training centres in Bahrain.
Ambassador Al Khalid on his part also proposed cooperation in the military fields, in particular to provide training courses for the Seychelles Coast Guard.
Also present at the meeting were the director general for bilateral affairs, Lindy Ernesta and other senior officials of the Foreign Affairs department.
