Prison services sets the record straight |07 June 2021
The Seychelles Prison Services (SPS) has clarified matters in relation to an incident whereby a former convict was arrested for indecent act at the Plaisance secondary school last week.
A communiqué from the SPS says that the suspect, who was arrested by the Seychelles Police on June 4, 2021, was previously an inmate who had served his sentence and released after serving his time.
The communiqué says that the former inmate, who was convicted on October 15, 2020, was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
Taking into account time served as a remand at the remand centre, he was released on February 8, 2021, the communiqué says.
