Badminton - Alissen Camille reaches the semi-final

Local player Alissen Camille has moved a step closer to a place on the medals podium of the 10th Indian Ocean Islands Games after winning her quarterfinal match in the women’s singles yesterday at the Centre de Badminton in Rose-Hill.

Camille won her match 2-1 against Mélodie Parrot of Reunion.

Her journey in the women’s singles began on Tuesday with a 2-0 victory over Shahurunaz Moosa of Maldives, while in her other match in the preliminaries Camille beat Epiphanie Asminah of Madagascar by the same score.

Camille will also be in action in the women’s doubles semifinals where she will pair up with Danielle Jupiter.

In their quarterfinal match yesterday, the duo defeated Maisa Ismail and Neela Najeeb of Maldives 2-0.

Seychelles will also be action in the men’s doubles after Kervin Ghislain and Jie Luo booked their semifinal spot with a 2-1 victory over Mohamed Rasheed and Ibrahim Shamiu of Maldives.
