Belliche launches new range of natural facial skincare products |21 April 2021
“Due to our skin being permeable, what we put on it goes into our bloodstream and affects our overall health; hence why it is important to be conscious of what we use on our skin, just like we need to be conscious of what we eat, our activity levels and lifestyles.”
This was said by Ingrid Saurer, when she officially launched her organic skincare brand ‘Belliche’ in Seychelles in 2019; and in continuing to honour this statement, she has now developed and introduced a new range of facial skincare products which are made with natural, organic, local ingredients.
Belliche prides itself on creating locally-made skincare products which do not contain harmful chemicals, and which make use of ingredients found around our islands; the products are also made with natural preservatives and enveloped in eco-friendly packaging.
Additionally, Ms Saurer explains that her gentle but naturally effective products can safely return into the water, causing no harm to the environment.
Among the new products are three different types of face washes: Activated Charcoal Face Cleanser for problematic skin or skin which needs detoxing; Bigarade (Bigarade orange) Face Cleanser for normal to oily skin due to the astringent nature of the Bigarade; and Coconut Cream Face Cleanser to gently cleanse dry skin.
On the post-cleansing side, the range also includes a gentle Coconut Water Toner and an Aloe Vera & Cucumber Face Cream, the latter being a very light cream with Aloe Vera and Cucumber extracts which help to relieve and soothe the skin in hot and humid weather.
The new range was designed not only to offer an organic face range made with natural, local ingredients, but to accommodate different skin types, hence providing more options, and offer gentle facial skincare alternatives which do not over cleanse the skin.
While speaking to Ms Saurer about her new range for the Belliche brand, she shared with us a few of her own personal and top tips about skincare in general, as well as for using her new products.
“Only use very little and don’t over cleanse the skin,” cautions Ms Saurer “because it makes the skin only want to produce more sebum to counteract the dry effect.
“Always moisturise after cleansing and for Seychelles, as it is so hot and humid, that’s why the very light Aloe Vera and Cucumber Face Cream is great – the skin doesn’t feel so heavy and oily.
“Always use sunscreen; it doesn’t matter what colour of skin you have, you must protect yourself from the sun – especially ours!”
