A Level, IGCSE results are out |20 January 2021
Students who sat for their Cambridge A Level and IGCSE exams end of last year are already receiving their results, the Ministry of Education has reported.
Principal secretary for early childhood, primary and secondary, Dr Odile Decommarmond, made note of this yesterday in a press conference detailing some important information from the Ministry of Education.
According to the principal secretary, the A Level results had already been communicated to the students by the School of Advanced Level Studies (Sals) from Monday January 18.
Meanwhile, the IGCSE results which came in yesterday have already been sent to the respective schools which have been tasked with passing on the results to the students along with their French DELF exam results.
Other examination results that are available include the S5 and P6 national exams.
This is to be done primarily through the contact details that had been provided by parents.
“It is not advisable for parents to come to the school to pick up the results so schools will phone the parents as from Thursday. Presently they are compiling all the results and they will receive the call for their IGCSE, DELF and national exams.”
“I know that some schools and teachers are in direct contact with students on WhatsApp, so that could also be used to pass on the information,” added PS Decommarmond.
For parents who have changed their contact details, PS Decommarmond has advised them to get in contact with their schools for the results.
However these parents will have to provide their child’s identity card number before being informed of their child’s grades.
The S4 selection results however are scheduled to come out next week.
“Next week we also hold our traditional press conference to provide an analysis of the results. This will be for P6 exams, IGCSE, DELF and A Level,” stated PS Decommarmond.
In the press conference, PS Decommarmond also noted that the Ministry of Education has stocked up on poplin and khaki materials used for uniforms, and these have already been delivered to the schools.
Nonetheless, the ministry said it has yet to receive more stocks of the red checkered poplin material used by schools in the central zone.
To recall, the Ministry of Education had announced a scarcity of uniform materials in stock end of last year.
However, now that the stocks have been replenished, the uniform materials are yet to go on sale due to current restrictions placed by health authorities.
The Ministry of Education has additionally released theGeneral Calendar of Operations for State Primary and Secondary Schools 2021, which it stresses, is susceptible to change depending on the Covid-19 situation.
