Much-anticipated A-Level results out |12 January 2021
Results for Cambridge International AS and A-Level exams were released yesterday, Monday January 11, 2021 at 06.00 UTC/GMT and those who had sat for the different exams got their grades either from the Cambridge website or virtually from their exam centres.
This year’s results might have been the most anxiously anticipated compared to previous years, due to the different setbacks and limitations on students, lecturers and centres caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Students and lecturers alike have expressed the sentiment that the academic year was much tougher, due to the country being on lockdown from March to May last year, meaning a total of one month and three weeks of lectures missed. Only three weeks of lectures were recovered.
Although the setback took a toll on their studies, the students cooperated, adapted to the guidelines given by the health authorities and fought hard to complete their syllabuses to sit their exams.
School of Advanced Level Studies (Sals) principal Lester Omondi expressed his delight and satisfaction at the promising results of the group of Sals students who were caught in the repercussions of the pandemic.
He also congratulated the team of lecturers and teachers who worked tirelessly to ensure that all the exam procedures ran accordingly and also congratulated English Literature lecturer Vanessa Arissol, who was the exam officer. He noted that through his observations the 2020 October/November examinations ran even smoother than previous years, perhaps due to the extra regulations.
A message for students who have just received their Cambridge International AS and A-Level results, the future may seem uncertain especially in light of scholarships and further studies but keep your head held high, what you have achieved will not go down the drain and the future holds the promise of great things. Good luck!
The exam results for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge O-Level are scheduled to be released on January 19, 2021 at 06.00 UTC/GMT.
