IDC provides its aircraft free of charge for official use by president |12 December 2020

The Islands Development Company has said it provides its aircraft free for official use.

The company provided the information to Seychelles NATION after this newspaper enquired as to how much it has cost the Islands Development Company (IDC) to fly President Wavel Ramkalawan and his delegation to Mauritius.

A communique from IDC writes: “When IDC provides its aircraft for official use by the President, the only direct cost attributed to that trip would be the fuel cost.

“In the case of the recent trip to Mauritius, this amounts to R40,000.”

It was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Sylvestre Radegonde who informed the National Assembly this week when questioned by leader of the opposition Sebastien Pillay that State House did not pay IDC for the aircraft for President Ramkalawan’s recent state visit to Mauritius.
