PUC rewards World Water Day Word Games winners |10 September 2020
World Water Day, celebrated on March 22, is an annual UN observance day that highlights the prominence of water in our daily life. Although the planned activities were brought to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the customary word games initiated by the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) were published in Seychelles NATION from the beginning of March 2020.
Children from both primary and secondary schools across the country were invited to participate and stood a chance to win a R300 and R500 voucher per category, proudly sponsored by PUC.
Due to limited response, (possibly because of the closure of schools as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic), the deadline for submission was further extended.
On Tuesday August 25, the winners for both primary and secondary categories were awarded their prize in a short ceremony held at Electricity House, Roche Caiman in the presence of the representatives of PUC’s Water Division and Communications Department as well as their parents.
The winners of the secondary school category were Lalitha Raja from Plaisance and Hope Banda from Anse Royale schools.
Isithando Banda from Anse Royale and Dynerra Didon from Mont Fleuri primary schools were the winners of the primary category.
PUC would also like to thank the students listed below for participating in this year’s word games and looks forward to their participation in other activities that it will organise in the future.
