Hearing date set for July 16

July 16 is the date that has been set for the hearing of the case of The Executive versus the Legislative.

The Executive versus the Legislative case with President Danny Faure acting in the capacity of Public Administrator versus Nicolas Prea in the capacity of the Speaker of the National Assembly was mentioned on Tuesday morning in the Constitutional Court.

To recall, this case was filed following the decision of the National Assembly to annul the SI regarding the 5% salary increment for the public sector.

The case was presented for the second time before the Constitutional Court on Tuesday and during that session the date July 16 was set for a whole day hearing. It will be heard by Judges Ronny Govinden, Laura Pillay and Gustave Dodin.
