School for the Exceptional Child receives donation from Roche Caiman MNA |27 June 2019
The member of the National Assembly for Roche Caiman, Audrey Vidot, has donated a set of educational materials to the School of the Exceptional Child.
The handover ceremony was held last Friday at the school’s premises at Roche Caiman in front of students, teachers and invited guests
The donation, which consists of building blocks and board games like puzzles, forms part of the MNA’s contributions to disabled children of the school as members of her district.
She said “the aim of this donation is to contribute to the learning of a group of vulnerable students. Even if the children have their small disabilities, this will not prevent them from continuing to grow in their learning process. The items donated today will be used in such process and facilitate teachers in the teaching and the learning process of the children,” said Mrs Vidot.
She added that the donation is also to encourage other people and organisation to come forward and contribute whatever they can to facilitate the learning process for the students of the school
The MNA stated that Roche Caiman is a district with many schools and she does her best to visit each school to identify what they need and tries to help them, this year she and her team decided to sponsor the school of exceptional children as it also coincided with the 25th anniversary of the school.
“I have a soft spot for children and the exceptional school forms part of my community and constituency,” Mrs Vidot added.
“The donation will serve as a great learning tool for the students as they learn best from educational toys,” said Marlene Jean-Baptiste, the school’s coordinator
