Ports authority donates welding equipment to SIT

CEO Brutus hands over a welding kit to Mr Barbé and the SIT lecturer

The Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) has donated over ten sets of welding equipment to the Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT).

The handover of the donation took place on Wednesday this week at the institute in the presence of the SIT board of directors, director Hubert Barbé, lecturers and students of the SIT. SPA was represented by its chief executive Ronny Brutus, David Bianchi and Neil Lalande Rene.

Mr Barbé thanked SPA for the generous donation, expressing how the equipment would be used to enhance the capacities of the students, who are learning the welding trade.

Mr Brutus emphasised that the donation was not a cost but rather an investment for the future.

The handover ceremony was programmed for earlier this year, but had to be postponed on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CEO of SPA wished the students the best in their studies and in future endeavours.
