Fire incident at Mont Fleuri secondary school |25 June 2019
Today at approximately 13:30 pm, Emergency units responded to a fire at Mont Fleuri secondary school yesterday afternoon.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, the fire was contained in the Prep Room Laboratory. It was due to an electrical fault.
“As soon as the incident occurred, the head teacher sounded the alarm and all students were evacuated to the Assembly Point. All endeavours were taken to ensure the safety of students and staff. The existing firefighting equipment in the laboratory, i.e. fire extinguishers, were used to contain the fire,” the communiqué said, adding that the school is resuming its activities as normal.
The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development regrets any inconveniences that this incident may have caused.
