Visit Laxmi Trading showroom at KB Emporium for Jaquar’s ‘complete bathroom solutions’ |04 March 2020

Jaquar, one of the fastest growing ‘complete bathroom solutions’ company in the world, has gained a foothold in Seychelles with the opening of its first ever Jaquar World destination showroom.

The Jaquar showroom provides a peek into the ‘Jaquar’ premium brand of bathroom wares and the ‘Artize’ luxury wares – some of which are customisable and most of which come with a 10-year warranty.

The leading Indian brand operates in over 50 countries across Asia, Europe, Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Africa.

Located at the Laxmi Trading showroom in the KB Emporium, Providence, the Jaquar showroom offers everything one can imagine in a bathroom space.

Potential customers may not only walk in to conceptualise their own bathrooms but also indulge in a ‘touch and feel’ experience, where they can see how some of the items such as faucets or showers operate since these are connected to a water pump.

It was Jaquar’s vice-president of international business and head of global business Alok Gupta and managing director of Shreeji Group of Companies Keshra Bhudia who received the honour of cutting the ribbon to mark the occasion.

Jaquar is not an unknown brand in the Seychelles with companies such as Shreeji Group – the parent company of Laxmi Trading – already making use of its products for its various projects and importing the products since 2012.

Jaquar has already been involved in the fittings of various Seychelles-based hotels such as Four Seasons Resort, Constance Lemuria and Ephelia, JA Enchanted Island, Savoy Resort & Spa and Banyan Tree Hotel as well as numerous hotels and luxury villas across the world.

However, although Jaquar has been trading with Laxmi Trading for quite a while, the Indian-based company did not have a proper system in place to showcase and sell its products to a larger customer base in Seychelles.

With Laxmi Trading now designated as its official distributor in Seychelles, Jaquar is hoping to bring better value for bathroom solutions in Seychelles

What makes the showroom and the Jaquar products different from other bathroom brands is the fact that it also provides technical and professional consultations when one purchases the Jaquar products.

As such, Jaquar expects to bring in an expert on Jaquar products and a 24/7 service installation technician who will both be based in Seychelles.

“Seychelles is an important market for us; we see a lot of traction coming in from the customers here who are seeking for new and innovative products,” Mr Gupta highlighted during the opening ceremony.

“Laxmi Trading has been a very old associate for us and they we were looking for a partner which believes in the Jaquar ideology, which believes in building the brand for the long term and which is ready to invest into the brand and provide the right experience to the Seychellois customer. I think we have the right partner in Laxmi,” he added.

“Apart from the world class, quality products, what will be the biggest differentiator for the Seychellois customers is the service we are going to offer. Not only will you get unique products, design and colours but we will partner with you in terms of sharing our technical knowledge, the know-how, the service and the spare parts,” Mr Gupta further explained.

When asked why a global brand such as Jaquar would choose to invest in Seychelles, Mr Gupta replied: “Seychelles might be small but I believe that the Seychelles customers deserve as good a quality as any other part of the world. Geographically it might be a smaller country but in terms of aspirations, it is truly world class. You see a lot of villas and high-end projects coming up so obviously a lot of investment is happening and given that there is the need, it is our responsibility as a manufacturer to give something innovative to this market.”

As the official distributor in Seychelles, Laxmi Trading has already established connection with three distributors/retailers in the western and northern regions of Mahé and on Praslin who will also be able to sell Jaquar products.
